These are the final works that I have decided to hand into for marking. Originally i had put these into a full black and white and was going to hand them in like that but i then saw another students work that had a mix of the black and white with colour and i thought that would look even better with graffiti because they had a lot of colour and that can be expressed as well as doing my original idea. I think this looks way better because it brings out the work more and focuses it on one or more sections of the work.
Title: Melbourne Graffiti
My original idea was to do a black and white theme of Melbourne City which included graffiti , graffiti lanes, buildings, entertainers and train stations. In my fink pieces I actually based it on the graffiti and graffiti lanes in Melbourne , i was originally suppose to just have the photos in black and white but instead I did black and white mixed with having a bit of the colour photos as well. It relates to the original idea of Melbourne city because graffiti lanes are in the cbd. I think my work turned out better than planned because getting the idea of doing a colour splash theme into it gave people the idea of the colours artists used to create their pieces for people visiting the lane ways. Yes I am happy with my final works , i think they al work together really well and people can see the talent melbournians have. These are entertainers finished works. i found that it was very hard to get photos of these because most people would not let you take pictures of them during the time they were entertaining. And there also weren't that many around or by the time I had come up to them they had completed their act or too many people were watching for me to be able to go through and get a good photo. I had walked around the city to find these entertainers and all 3 were close by.
This is my contact sheet for the other solutions of the works. These were all taken on one day mixed with graffiti , graffiti lane way, entertainers and trains/trainstations.
These are the photoshop progression shots from the other solutions. As you notice most photos where just converted into black and white and vibrance and other things where added to adjust brightness and so on. I had cropped one photo with the half girl/half skull to bring the art closer and be more focused in the picture. I had also used pic monkey for some editing due not being on a mac with photoshop not available. The same things where being done with changing them to black and white and ten adjusting the brightness and vibrance.
these are the lane way with graffiti finished artworks eight the originals on the left and the completed black and white series on the right. I liked the idea of black and white because it can really bring out features in the photograph more than what they would be in colour.
These are the final works for my graffiti art solution. All photos where taken from lane ways but where only focused on the actual art itself. Most of these images where cropped a tiny bit to have more focus on the art itself then changed to black and white with adjusting brightness and so on to make the photo brighter or darker.
here are my black and white city photoshop progression shots of buildings. Majority of these photos where darkened because it brought out the buildings more from the background so it became the main focus of the photograph.
This is my first finished series which is based on buildings in Melbourne CBD. I like the idea of black and white because i think it gives me of a better feel to the picture. With all these pictures they were put into photoshop and then changed to black and white filter, next pictures where changed in vibrance, saturation and much more. I had to go around the city and just take pictures of any buildings that i liked that I thought would work with this project. This present my idea of city buildings vey well because they are all different from different areas of the city. I could have made more of an effort with the angles that I took the buildings of like done maybe some side ones and ones from the top of buildings looking down.
